We are pleased to share that members of the Xt-EHR coordination team actively participated in the MedTech Forum 2025, held from 13–15 May at the Lisbon Congress Center. This premier European conference brought together over 1,000 stakeholders from industry, healthcare, policy, and academia to discuss the future of medical technology under the theme “Empowering a Healthier Tomorrow”.
Key Contributions from Xt-EHR
During the forum, Xt-EHR engaged in discussions focusing on the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and its implications for the MedTech sector. Key topics included:
- Interoperability Requirements: Addressing the challenges of aligning product development cycles with evolving EHDS standards and varying national implementation timelines.
- Technical Documentation and Certification: Exploring the need for comprehensive documentation demonstrating compliance with EEHRxF specifications and the role of self-certification supported by standardized testing frameworks.
- Collaborative Efforts: Emphasizing the importance of cross-sector collaboration among industry stakeholders, regulators, and standard development organizations to ensure a practical and scalable EHDS implementation.
Xt-EHR also highlighted the necessity for continuous engagement in standardization processes and the development of modular, updatable product designs to adapt to future EHDS requirements.
Looking Ahead
The insights gained from the MedTech Forum 2025 reinforce Xt-EHR’s commitment to facilitating effective EHDS implementation. We will continue to contribute to the development of interoperable health data systems that support primary healthcare delivery across Europe.
